Adaline Flatt was the daughter of the late John and Martha Chapman Flatt and was born February 2, 1873 in the town of Bluffdale, Greene County, where her entire life was spent.

She became a member of the Pacific Union Baptist Church in her girlhood, and attended Pacific Union School.

In December 1897, she was married to Robert C. Darr. Surviving besides her husband are, all of their eight children, Howard Darr, Mrs. Ben King, and Mrs. James Short, Jr. of Carrollton; Mrs. Joe Schild of Hillview; Mrs. E. S. Crane of Lebanon, Mo., Mrs. Lloyd Levi of Alton; Wm. Darr of Hardin; and Mrs. Harold Hillig of Brighton; one sister Mrs. Hattie March of Aledo, Ill., sixteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a niece Mrs. Lynn Mather of Alton who, as a young woman, made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Darr.

Mrs. Robert C. Darr, 76, passed away at her home west of town at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday, January 10, 1943 following an illness of about a year and a half. She was buried in Stith Cemetery, west of Carrollton.
