Odus Flatt Sr., 77, longtime resident of Jacktown, passed from this life to live with the Lord on June 21, 2015.

He was surrounded by his family, which was his final request. Odus was born Sept. 11, 1937, to William Cornelius Flatt and Mattie Jane (Honeycutt) Flatt in Stroud. He attended Stroud High School.

Oct. 25, 1955, he married Glenna Faye Cook, the love of his life.

He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force, Squadron 3704, Flight 488, at Lackland Air force Base in Lincoln, Nebraska, from 1955-1959. He then moved back to Oklahoma and ran a retail milk route for Borden. Later, he worked for Wolverine Tube in Shawnee. He retired in from Wolverine after 18 years of service.

During his retirement, Odus enjoyed his time on his farm. He loved raising cattle, cutting hay and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Glenna, father; William, mother; Mattie, and his brothers and sisters.

Memorial service celebrating Odus and Glenna’s life is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 11, at Hillside Baptist Church, 333892 East 1040 Road, McLoud. Pastors Tuney Ropp and Russell Hughes will officiate.
