LaVale, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Flanigan, 82, of LaVale, died Sunday, January 22, 2006 at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born April 21, 1923 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Veronica (Cullen) Narey.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Joseph Narey, John "Jack" Narey and Vincent Narey. She was retired from C & P Telephone Co. and Frostburg State College.
She was a graduate of Beall High School Class of 1941. She had a catering business. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and St. Michael's Sodality.
Surviving are: one sister Mary Teresa Davis, Cumberland; two daughters: Jeanne Scaletta and husband, Tim, LaVale, and Suanne Flanigan, S.S.N.D., Baltimore; two sons: J. Patrick Flanigan and wife, Debbie, Winchester, VA;, and Michael B. Flanigan, Ashton, VA; five grandchildren: Melissa Blubaugh and husband, Jim; Nicole Nolan, and husband, Pat; Timi Scaletta; and Patrick and Shane Flanigan; four great grandchildren: Delanie Blubaugh, and Claire, Jamie and Leah Nolan; and a special niece, Maureen Blanco, and children: Erin and Brett Blanco
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p. m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a. m. with The Rev. Fr. Edward S. Hendricks as celebrant.
