Mrs. James Brown, living just south of town on the State road, died on Tuesday of heart disease with which she had been afflicted for some time. The funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church of which she was a member.

Martha FLAKE was the daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Flake.

Martha Flake married James F. Brown on August 21, 1851.

9 - Ellie Effie Ann Brown 1875 – 1965

Tragedy struck the Brown family when their first born child, a daughter, Susan born in 1852 died in her infancy.

At the age of 35, husband James F. Brown volunteerd in the state of Indiana for the Civil War.

In 1864 another tragic loss of baby son William Brown. Then in 1875, sixteen year old daughter, Laura A. Brown died from injuries sustained in a fire.

On the 22nd of December 1892 James F. Brown MARRIED (2) Miss Lydia HENDERSON in Johnson County, Indiana.
