He was 57 years of age, he enlisted in the regular army at an early age and after serving 16 years was Honorably Discharged Oct 9, 1875, and since that time has, with his family, been a resident of Gallup.
He was married in 1875 to Mary Ann Record, and from thus union there were seven children born, five of whom with their mother survive him.
