Lena Elnora (Lewis) Fizer, daughter of Etta (Williams) Lewis and Willie Lewis, was born December 16, 1919 at Villisca, Iowa. Lena graduated from Afton High School in 1939. She continued her education and received her Education Certificate after completing a summer training course in Mt Ayr. She went on to teach for a short time.
On December 24, 1941, Lena was united in marriage to D. Glen Fizer in Gentry County, Mo. In 1943, they moved to Pennsylvania where Lena worked in a macaroni factory and a Dime Store, before returning to Murray in 1945. They later moved to a farm south of Thayer where Lena was an active mother and farmwife. In 1966, they moved to Lorimor where she worked for a restaurant. Next, Lena work as a cook for Lorimor Schools for the next 25 years. She retired in 2001, after working eight years for the sale barn café in Winterset.
Lena was an active part of the Lorimor American Legion Post 96 Auxiliary. She was also a part of a Lorimor card party club.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen in 1994, a son Roger, her brothers and sisters, two grandchildren and a great-grandson.
