NANCY GAIL BRACKMAN, 48, Canton, RD 1, passed away, December 29, 1995, at her home following an extended illness. Born July 23, 1947, in Canton, she was a daughter of Ervin and Katherine Kilmer Fitzwater. She was a graduate of Canton High School, class of 1965. Following High School, class of 1965. Following graduation, she served one year with the US Women's Army Corp. Mrs. Brackman's main interest throughout life encompassed her home, family and church. On July 6, 1968, she married Paul Richard Brackman in the East Canton United Methodist Church. Together they celebrated 27 years of devoted marriage. She was an active member of the East Canton Untied Methodist Church, the Windfall grange for 25 years, the Bradford/Sullivan Pomona Grange, the National Grange and the PA State Grange, where she served on the state lecturer's committee for eight years. Mrs. Brackman was well know for her pies and assisted the Pomona Grange with their bake sales at the Troy Fair for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a son and his fiancee, Christopher J. Brackman and Betsy Paulhammus, of Lawrenceville, PA; a son Jon E. Brackman, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Stacey t. and Tina Brackman, McGuire Air Force Base, NJ; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Iona and Andrew Straka, Shirley and Stephen Barnes, Carol and Larry Brown, all of Canton, all of Canton; Diane and Dale Castle, Watertown, NY and Karen and Gordon Wesneski, Canton; a sister, Debra Fitzwater, Canton; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther and Eva Fitzwater and Daniel and Roberta Fitzwater, all of Canton; special brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Audrey Brackman, Lewis and Erma Brackman, and Owen Brackman; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special companion, her dog Angel. The funeral and committal service was held from the East Canton Untied Methodist Church, January 2, 1996 with her pastor, Rev. Jeffrey Pelton, officiating. Interment was in the windfall Cemetery, Granville Township. The family suggest that memorials may be directed to the East Canton United Methodist Church Building Fund, RR1, Canton, or the Guthrie Hospice RR1, Towanda, PA. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Pepper funeral Home, Canton. –Canon Independent Sentinel.
