She was born Aug. 27, 1916, in Wayne County, Ill., to Elson and Irene (Barnes) Fitch.
Halene had worked as an accountant at Packaging Corp. of America for 15 years. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Christian Women Connections. A volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital since 1967, she delivered Meals on Wheels and helped on the bloodmobiles.
Surviving are nieces Anne Patton and Janet Powell; a nephew, Robert Winn; and her cousin, Richard Roos and his wife, Bonnie, of Lamar.
Her parents preceded her, as well as her husband, H.K. Ahlf; a nephew, James Winn; and three sisters, Luella Winn, Genevie Vaught and Dortha Powell.
A funeral service was conducted at Goodwin Funeral Home, Vincennes, IN with the Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson officiating.
Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, Ill.
