Sarah had been institutionalized in the Indianapolis Central State Hospital for the insane and later transferred to the Madison State Hospital (initially called the Southeastern Indiana Hopsital for the Insane) when it opened in 1910, She remained there until her death.

NOTE: The original death certificate shows her burial in Rest Hill, which was the cemetery on the grounds of the S.E. Ind. Hospital, on 6 July 1913. She was removed and reinterred on 23 Oct 1913 in Springdale. Records show lot 116 however, I believe it should be 160.
