Phyllis Eileen Fisher Bjornstad
Phyllis Eileen Fisher Bjornstad passed away peacefully February 13, 2004. She was born on March 23, 1930, the youngest of eight children, in Alliance Nebraska, and moved to Puyallup, Washington at the age of three. Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Robert Bjornstad, September 10, 1948. The loss of her mother at the age of fourteen caused Phyllis to cherish her family, and always place her husband and children first in her life. Thirty years after her Puyallup High School graduation, Phyllis became an LPN and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital until 2001, when failing health forced her retirement. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Ellen Fisher, brothers Edward, John, Lawrence, Leo, Leonard and William. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert; sister Marie (Alf) Amundsen; sister-in-law Martha Fisher; children Vicki (Gary) Sullivan, James (Joy), David (Jackie), Donald (Sue); grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, Ryan, Leanne; and great-grand-child Andrea. Of her many friends, she was especially close to Walt and Alma Anderson and family, and Betty Gustafson. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her boundless energy, generosity, and loving heart. The family wishes to express special thanks to Rainier Visa for their care. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, February 18, at Peace Lutheran Church, 214 E. Pioneer Ave., Puyallup, 845-8819. Interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' name to the Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Funeral Alternatives of Washington, Sumner, 863-2800.
