EVA RUTH COWAN, 81, passed away Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at her home in Duncan, Okla. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home, Marlow, Okla., with Rev. Gene Vernon officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Eva was born Thursday, Oct. 24, 1929, near Satterwhite in Garvin County, Oklahoma, to Monroe Fisher and Edna (LeMay) Fisher. Eva lived in the Marlow, Duncan and Elmore City area all of her life and graduated from Marlow High School in 1950. She married Dale Cowan on May 5, 1949, in Marlow. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1998. Eva was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Meridian.
Survivors include a son, Terry Cowan and wife Ann Marie of Norman; a daughter, Nancy Earley and husband Rodger of Elgin, Texas; two grandchildren, Erin Michelle Cowan and Matthew Tanner Cowan, both of Norman; two brothers, Keith Fisher and wife Kay of Iowa Park, Texas, and Kenneth Fisher and wife Victoria of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Margie Williams of Duncan, Gena Turkett and husband Ross of Meridian, Elaine Allen and husband Mike of Duncan; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Eva was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Wynona Fisher.
Pallbearers will be David Turkett, Michael Turkett, Lincoln Floyd, Bobby Williams and Tim Williams.
