Frank V. Fisher Sr., 88, formerly of Eldon, died at 4:25 a.m. Feb. 12, 2010, at The Good Samaritan Society, Ottumwa.He was born March 19, 1921, in Ashland, Iowa, to Jesse I. and Emma Enloe Fisher. He married Martha L. Sloan Dec. 24, 1940, in Lancaster, Mo. She preceded him in death March 9, 2007.Frank served in the Army during World War II. He worked for 25 years at John Morrell and Co. until the plant closure in 1973. He then worked for Falco in Fairfield, retiring in 1986.He was a member of Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars.Surviving are two sons, Frank (Shirley) Fisher Jr. of Ottumwa and Michael (Vickie) Fisher of Bloomfield; two daughters, Barbara Sue Staton of Dillsburg, Pa., and Linda (John) Bullock of Ottumwa; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrell Fisher of Ottumwa and Jesse Fisher of Agency; a sister, Jewell Taft of Ottumwa.He was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Wilbur, Glen and Carl Fisher and a sister, Ellen Booe.Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Elkins officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the family present from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.Memorials may be made to The Good Samaritan Society, Ottumwa.
