ALICE E. FISHER, a native Houstonian, passed away June 3. She grew up in the Heights, attended Incarnate Word Academy School and School of Nursing. She worked many years at St. Joseph's Hospital downtown.

Alice was the daughter of Marie C. Holik and Robert W. Tkac. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Lee Dudley, son-in-law James Dudley, and grandson Barrett Dudley; her sister Florence Pyszka; and her Beloved Cat "Spot".

Special thanks for invaluable, loving care go from the family to Atria Westchase friends Lupe, Lisa, Juana, Maria, Myriam, Hortencia, Rosalba, Beatriz, Abby, and Rosa.

Alice served our country as an Army Nurse, 2nd Lt., in WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, where she cared for wounded and shell-shocked soldiers. Following her military service, she lived for a time in Washington, Indiana, where her daughter, and son, Michael Lee, now deceased, were born. She returned to Houston in 1964, and spent the rest of her life here.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 10 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Road. Rite of Committal will follow, where Alice will be laid to rest with her husband and forever friend, Harold E. Fisher, and her parents, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Honoring Alice's great love of animals, the family suggests donations in her memory to Citizens for Animal Protection, 11925 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
