Rev. Billy Mac Fisher, 62 of Rt. 3, Wytheville, Va., the Piney Community, died Monday March 29, 1999 at his home. He was born in Wythe County, the son of the late Robert and Ruby Harmon Fisher. He was a member of Liberty Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Appalachian Conference P. H. where he served as Pastor of the Rural Retreat P.H. Church., Hill Top P.H. Church in Pulaski and Snowsville P.H. Church. Mr. Fisher was licensed in 1974 and ordained in 1976.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of Korea and a retired employee of the New Jersey Zinc Company.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Coleman Fisher of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law; three step-grandsons, one step-great-granddaughter; three sisters; Balaire Powell of Ohio, Ruth Arnold and Lillie Slate, both of Wytheville; two brothers, Dallas Fisher of Texas and McKinley Fisher of Max Meadows; special friends, Geneva and Kathy Roberts, Elbert Jones, Reed Fisher, Elvia and Ram Dunford and special niece, Sherri Stafford. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Liberty Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Bobby Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. American Legion Post #9 will conduct Graveside Military Rites. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday or at the residence any time. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
