Catherine Paxton Fischer, 72, of Chester, formerly of Lexington, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

She was born June 28, 1939, in Lexington, a daugh­ter of the late Eugene Wilson Paxton and Catherine Parrent Paxton. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church for 46 years, and was also a member of the Village Woman's Club and the Woman's Club of Chester.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald Luis Fischer; three sons, Ronald Luis Fischer. Jr., Bryan Keith Fischer, and Darell Lee Fischer; a brother, Eugene W. Paxton Jr.; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Manly Memorial Baptist Church. Burial followed at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory handled the arrangements.
