Private 2264703 & K-452001 James Findlay
Served in both WW1 of 1914-18 & WW2 of 1939-45.
In WW1 he enlisted with the Canadian Railway Troops (CRT) C.E.F. in Vancouver BC on March 19th 1918 at age 32. He listed his occupation as "Store Keeper" In Seattle WA. But he also listed himself as Skilled Railway Employee with the B.C.R.M.-USA (See attached enlistment documents.)
Born in Glasgow Scotland in 1886 he immigrated to Americia in 1907 settling in the Seattle WA. area until his enlistment in 1918. After the war he settled in the New Westminster BC area were he had a small store.
WW2. He enlisted with the Westminster Reg. in May 1940 at age 54 and was a supuly clerk for the Regiment until the end of the war. He died March 21st 1957 at age 71 and this veteran of two world wars was laid to rest in the Veterans section of the Fraser View Cemetery in New Westminster BC.
