CASTER, Wyo.—Former Crawford Resident Velma M. Filener, 76, a resident of Casper, Wyo., for two years, died on Tuesday, Nov 30, 1993, in Casper.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m. from the Fairgrounds Industrial Building in Casper, Wyo.

Concluding Funeral Services will be officiated by Ellsworth Schilling and Leslie White on Monday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. from the Taylor Mortuary Chapel in Delta.

Interment will follow the second service in the Garden of Memories in Crawford, with arrangements being handled under the direction of the Taylor Funeral Service, Inc.

Velma M. Filener, the daughter of Frank and Daisy "Alice" (Hermance) Filener, was born on Sept. 24, 1917, in Crawford, Colo., where she spent her childhood an received her secondary education. She then furthered her education at Western State College in Gunnison.

Miss Filener, a minister, moved from Crawford to Gunnison where she lived for one year. She then returned to Crawford for about five years and started her ministry and traveled around parts of the country, including Alaska and Wyoming.

She is survived by three brothers; Millard Filener, of Portland, Ore.; Bill Filener, of Dolores, Harvey Filener, of Grand Junction, and four sisters: Ethelyn Campbell, of Basalt; Beulah McClellan and Daisy Miller, both of Grand Junction; and Octavia Miler, of Hotchkiss.

In addition to her parents, Miss Filener, was also preceded in death by three brothers: John Filener, Franklin Filener, and Carl Filener.

She was a non-denominational church member.

Miss Filener enjoyed: helping people, the outdoors, flowers and cooking.
