Amanda Elizabeth Fiene was born September 23, 1873 at Belle Plaine, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy at Luzerne, Iowa, by Rev. Staudt and attended Sunday School in a nearby schoolhouse where church services were conducted.
On December 25, 1901 she was united in marriage to Jacob Eichner. To this union, one child, a daughter, was born.
They made their home in the vicinity of Belle Plaine until 1908 when they moved to Castlewood, SD. After living there two years they returned to Belle Plaine, Iowa and in 1915 moved to Cottonwood county, Minnesota and lived on farms in that vicinity until December 1940 when they purchased a home in the village of Westbrook. Mrs. Eichner has not been in the best of health since a severe illness in 1908.
May 9 of this year she submitted to an operation at a New Ulm hospital. On May 30 she came to the home of her daughter where she passed away at 2:35 pm, July 10, heart trouble dropsy being the immediate cause.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, J. F. Eichner, a daughter, Mrs. DeForest Youngck, a son-in-law, two grand-children, also one brother, John of Belle Plaine, Iowa, a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her parents, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death, one sister having died on May 15 of this year.
She was always more thoughtful of others then herself.
