1937-2013


Shirley J. Bounds of Cottage Grove passed away Aug. 28, 2013 from natural causes.

She was born Aug. 9, 1937 in Elk Park, N.C. to Emory and Gertie Fields (Cordell).

On June 15, 1955 in Grants Pass, Oregon she married Philip Bounds. He passed away April 10, 1998.

Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and playing cards.

She is survived by two sons, Tim Bounds of Coos Bay and Rick Bounds of Reedsport, four daughters, Sandy Freeman and Phyllis Bounds, both of Eugene and Kim Cooley and Linda Bounds, both of Cottage Grove, brothers Ronald, Joe, James and Raymond Fields, all of Grants Pass and Roger Fields of Roseburg, sisters Nancy Richardson and Marie Harelson, both of Grants Pass, 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Richard, Samual, Charles (Pookie) Dellard (Fritz), Daryl and Donald.

A memorial will be held Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Dorena Grange.
