JOHN FIELDS DIES SUDDENLY, AGED 76
Lifelong Resident of County Succumbs Tuesday Evening.
John Fields, a lifelong resident of Jefferson county, passed away Tuesday at the home of his daughter.. Mrs. Frank L. Pelo, 227 Sterling street, following a short illness, aged 76 years. He had been in poor health for some time but was taken to bed only one day before he passed away. Death was due to heart trouble..
He was born near Sackets Harbor, Jan. 17, 1843. son of John and Martha Fields and had spent his entire life in this county. In early years, The married Miss Ann Stokes of Sackets Harbor, who passed away 27 years ago. Six children were born to them. Later he married Mrs Amelia Bates of this city. He had been a farmer for many years retiring about 20 years ago.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Amelia
Fields; the following children survive him: Mrs. Fred ives of Ricos.

Jay Fields of Pamelia, Talcott Fields
of Rices, Charles Fields of Hounsfield, Eddy N. Fields of Rices and
one sister, Mrs. Belle Frye of Sackets Harbor.
The funeral will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Pelo, 227 Sterling street, at 3 Thursday afternoon. Rev. George F. Shepherd, pastor of Asbury Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Interment will be in Brookside cemetery..
