WOODRUFF, SC-- Thalia Few Black, 90, formerly of 210 Harold Smith Road, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 09, 2010, at 5:20 AM at Woodruff Manor.
A native of Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late William Vardry and Rilda Stone Few. She was a member of Cavins Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas C. Black of Woodruff; four daughters, Audrey Green of Woodruff, Elaine Carlton of Woodruff, Sarah Ann Kernells and her husband, Wilson of Woodruff and Gladys "Becky" White of Woodruff; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Black was predeceased by four sisters, Frances Kernells, Annie Belle Coleman, Bonnie Few and Maggie Few; two brothers, Ford Few and Gordon Few. She was also pre-deceased by two sons-in-laws, Jimmie Carlton and Dickie White; a granddaughter, Angie Carlton; and a great-granddaughter, Kristin Lee Akerman.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 11, 2010, at 2:30 PM at the Lanford Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens.
