Graduated Univ. of Alabama in 1936.

Married Miss Anne Janet Pettit on 23 March 1940.

Marine Corps First Lieutenant W. M. Ferris was designated Naval Aviator #6304 in 1940.

1st Lieut. Ferris and two other Marine Corps aviators were killed when their three planes crashed on Haleakala Mtn. on the island of Maui, Territory of Hawaii.
