Jessie Ferrell Sr., 59, of Batesville, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at his residence.
Services were Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Spring Hill ASA M.B. Church in Courtland. Burial was in Spring Hill ASA Cemetery. Rev. Louis Wilson officiated. Cooley's Mortuary, Inc. had charge.
Ferrell, born Aug. 6, 1944, to the late Chester and Famous Ferrell, was a forklift driver for Batesville Compress where he worked for 24 years. He was also a former employee of Staplcotn and a member of Spring Hill ASA M.B. Church.
Survivors include his wife B. Willie Ferrell of Batesville; his mother Famous Ferrell of Courtland, four sons, Jessie Ferrell Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Curtis Ferrell, Roy Ferrell and Terry Ferrell, all of Batesville; five daughters, Barbara Ann Smith, Vanessa Ferrell, Mary Ferrell, Darlene Hubbard and Patricia Ferrell, all of Batesville; three sisters, Joyce Brown of Memphis, Mary Ferrell of Chicago, Ill. and Lela Norwood of Batesville; six brothers, Tony Ferrell of Cleveland, Ohio, Willie Ferrell, James Ferrell, Terry Ferrell, Perry Ferrell and Rickey Ferrell, all of Batesville; and 11 grandchildren.
