Ivy R. Fenley was born in September, 1882, in Uvalde, Uvalde County Texas, to James Taylor Fenley and Matilda Jane Gibson. Ivy stood 5ft. 9in. tall, had hazel eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion.
He was married to Emma Webster in about 1923. They had one step-son, Sherman Webster. Ivy was a peace officer and rancher in El Paso County, Texas. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a REGULAR RANGER on June 8, 1915, thru June 30, 1916, as a private in Co. B.
He then resigned and took the job of deputy sheriff from 1916 to 1930. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER May 25, 1917 thru September 1. 1917, attached to Co. C. He was an El Paso policeman from 1912 thru 1915. In 1930, he was still a deputy sheriff in El Paso.
Ivy R. Fenley died in 1949, in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas. He was buried in Concordia Cemetery in El Paso. (by Nancy E. Brown)
