Boullion, Diana Kay
WAUNAKEE - Diana Kay Boullion, age 42, of Waunakee, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003. She was born Diana Kay Fenley on Dec. 12, 1960, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Janet (Edge) and Dale Fenley. Her family moved to Madison in 1974. She attended Madison Memorial High School but was proud to have earned the HSED on her own. She was married to her loving husband, James A. Boullion, in Madison on June 14 1980. Diana started working for the famous Madisonian Eddie Ben Ellison on his "Mad Dog" hotdog cart on State Street. She was proud of being able to do this job because that cart was so heavy, and she was so small, but she was able to push it to where it had to go and do the job. She also worked in the Capitol for a state legislator and later for her father-in-law, Jim Boullion Sr., in his Madison lobbying office. Diana finished her "office" career working for the Wisconsin Coalition for Fair Competition, administering their lobbying effort on her own. She did not have formal training for any of these challenging jobs, but she was able to learn on the fly and excel in all of them. Diana's artistic and entrepreneurial side emerged in her last career when she opened her own nail salon, Classic Nails, inside of Jansen's in Waunakee. She loved the friendships she made with her clients and owning her own business. In every job she had Diana worked hard, made many, many friends and was proud of being able to overcome the obstacles that she faced. Diana's house became a palate to express her creativeness. She saw every room and every holiday as an opportunity to decorate and celebrate, and she did. She loved to study the decorating shows on TV, sew and "read" mystery books on tape. She loved and was very proud of her family and everything they have accomplished. She put aside her own time and interests to encourage them and take care of them. From learning how to become a Civil War reenactor for her husband, to being the proud mother of her son, Jordan Charles, age 17, who has been so successful at the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy. She also loved and was proud of her independent son, James Dale, age 20, and her beautiful and lively daughter, Danielle Marie, age 16. In addition to her parents, kids and husband, she leaves behind five siblings, Steve (Ann) Fenley, Mount Horeb, Laura Fenley, Madison, Jim (Sharon) Fenley, Belleville, Andrea (Tim) Kinney, Spring Green, and Joel Fenley, Benton, Ga.; mother-in-law, Janet (Johnson) Boullion, Madison; sisters-in-law, Debbie Boullion, Fairchild, Bridget (Joe) Krantz, Sparta, and Barbara (Carl) Verdonck, Lakeland, Fla.; and three nieces and five nephews, whom she adored. She was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Fenley; and her father-in-law, James Boullion Sr. Any memorials will be invested for the education of her children. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at 11 a.m. at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5701 Raymond Road, in Madison. The Rev. Brent Campbell will preside. Friends may call at the WINN FUNERAL HOME, in Waunakee, on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in Vienna Cemetery in Waunakee.
