Geneva Fender Ayers, 82, of Mills River, made her journey home Monday, November 28, 2016 at her home.A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nettie Melton Fender and the wife of Roy Edward Ayers. Judy and Eddie were married for 46 years, until his death in 1999. Geneva’s greatest joy was caring for her family, her love of the Lord and she was a prayer warrior.

Surviving are a son: Roy Randall Ayers, of the home; 2 daughters: Kimberly Nelon and husband Terry, of Asheville; Melanie Light and husband Glenn, of Ridgeway, VA.; 2 grandsons: Corey Slate Light and Cameron Edward Light, of Ridgeway VA.; sisters: Ruby Williams, of Newland, Conita Stacey, of New Castle, Del.; and a brother: Boyce Fender of Hockessin, Del.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the Asheville Family Church, of which she was a member, 530 New Leicester Hwy. Revs. Rolf Woodard and Keith Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Robinson Cemetery on Bakers Creek in Burnsville.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
