Marjorie E. Felsing, 91, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Northpark Respite Care.
Marjorie E. Felsing was born June 18, 1923 in Smithland Iowa, the daughter of Thomas G. and Sylvia (Peterson) McLarty. Marge graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School. She was employed in retail sales with Younkers for over 20 years before her retirement.
Marge married Herman Felsing on April 3, 1943 in Sioux City Iowa. Herman preceded Marge in death on September 21, 2012. In her younger days, Marge was an avid bowler. She was a member of TOPS weight loss group. She loved having lunch dates with her friends. Marge will be remembered for celebrating her Irish Heritage. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren.
Marge is survived by her two daughters, Judy Simpson and the late Richard Simpson of Phoenix, Arizona., Sandy Tonjes and her husband Clay of Sioux City, and daughter-in law, Dr. Michelle Felsing of Eugene, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Jill Terrill, Katie Felsing, Mike Johnson Jr., Dusty Johnson, Andy Felsing, Cassie Helming, Shannon Fujimagari, and Shane Simpson; 14 great-grandchildren and one brother- in law Kenneth Adams of Iowa City and one sister-in law, Emma McLarty of Evans, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Dr. Robert Felsing, two sons-in-law Michael Johnson Sr. and Richard Simpson, two sisters, two brothers, two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
