Maggie Elizabeth Fellers, 88, of Nixon, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in Cuero. She was born March 30, 1920, in Gonzales County to Jess Hensley and Annie Bell (Ivey) Gordon.
She attended the Assembly of God church. Maggie married William Z. "Bill" Fellers on Dec. 30, 1937, in Gonzales. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Willie Fellers and Wilbert Fellers; six brothers, Merlin, Ansel, Cecil, Nathan, and infants Ronald and Donald Gordon; and a sister, Jessie Fay Moore.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce King of Nixon and Shirley Padalecki and husband Bennie of Adkins; her brother, Bert Gordon and wife Jimmie of Nixon; two sisters, Lottie O'Neal of Gonzales and Ollie Mae Koennig of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 7, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.
The funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating.
Interment followed in the Nockenut Cemetery in Wilson County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
