TANEY COUNTY REPUBLICAN – 11-10-1904"Mrs. Cornelison Dead"Mrs. Sarah Cornelison, an old and respected resident of Jasper township, died of consumption at the home of her son-in-law November 1, 1904, at 10 o'clock pm., and was buried in the Walnut Shade cemetery at 4 o'clock p.m. November 3d.Sarah Felkner was born in 1838 at Rilas Creek, Tennessee, and when but a child her parents removed with her to what is now Webster county, this state, where she resided until shortly after her marriage with C. R. Cornelison in 1864, when they came to Taney county.Mrs. Cornelison leaves a son, Mannie, who is a resident of Jasper township, and a daughter, Mrs. Ben Weatherman, both of whom were with her during her long illness and were at her bedside when she passed away. The funeral services, which were very simple and beautiful, were held in the little graveyard, under the open sky, near the resting place of her two infant children who passed on many years before her.Mrs. Flowers, by request of the family, led the services, assisted by other neighbors, who had known Mrs. Cornelison many years. She related the principal incidents in the good woman's life, and described the beautiful death-bed scene, which was an inspiration to all who witnessed it.Mrs. Cornelison died as she had lived since her girlhood, a devoted Christian, loved and honored by all who knew her. Into her life in recent years came sickness and much sorrow, with the courage and Christian fortitude to bear them. The life history of this brave, good, sweet little woman would make a beautiful story. She was a loving mother, a kind neighbor, and a true friend, and will long be remembered by what she has done."Fading away like the stars of the morningLosing their light in the glorious sun,So let me still away, gently and lovingly,Only remembered by what I have done."
