Joshua/Josiah Feindel [note sp.] of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, brother to Joash A. Feindel (1849-1930), later of Lowell, Mass.

b. 31 Aug 1834, Lunenburg, to George & Catherine, family later moving between New Germany and Farmington, perhaps to Chesley Corner.

m1. Trefina/Tryphena Smith, deceased, with 2 daughters, and perhaps a son Robert, perhaps just stillborn or newborn.

res. 1871 Bridgewater, with first wife and their two daughters.

res. 1881 New Dublin Twp., Bridgewater census division 2, perhaps near Dublin Avenue, south of city, west of river, near Conquerall Bank village and Conquerall Road, Conquerall Mills at its other end, lodging with widow Ethel Middlemas, her children, and others, age 47, himself a widower, occ. lumberman.

m2. 1885 Kentville (Kings Co.), widower, age 49, to Lydia Zwicker, both res. New Germany, wife b. Conquerall, per marriage record/reference.

res. 1891 New Germany, with second wife and their two sons.

res. 1901 Chesley Corner lodging with Ruashea/Ruashau (mem. id #201470722), widow of Benjamin Manthorn, past neighbor to him and his parents, perhaps in 1861.

No record in 1911 census, or later provincial death records, nor here in Massachusetts. It is believed [but not confirmed] that this memorial is a cenotaph.

Widow Lydia Zwicker-Feindle removed to Danvers, Massachusetts, by 1896, 1899 at the latest.

As to the death year correction, I believe I remember it first just saying 1889, but I am uncertain. It may have always had this correction, during my lifetime. I am only a descendant of in-laws, so my interest is mostly just academic.

Gravesite Details

Death year was altered, between 1889 and 1899, either change arguably appropriate.
