CARTHAGE, Mo. — Dorothy Sue Cox, age 76, of Jasper, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, Mo.
Dorothy was born on Nov. 1, 1934, in Wasburn, Mo., to Carl and Ruby (Alyea) Fehring.
Dorothy was a retired waitress, having worked for Judy's Café in Jasper.
Dorothy was a member of the Wheaton First Baptist Church.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Marvin Cox on Dec. 24, 1958, at Wheaton, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1998.
Survivors include three sons: Carl Cox of Lamar, Mo., Curtis Cox and Charles Cox both of Jasper, Mo.; two daughters: Cathy Williams of Lamar, Mo., and Cheryl Cox of Jasper Mo.; one sister, Sandra Griffin of Neosho, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel.
Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery east of Jasper, Mo.
Memorial contributions can be made to Mitchell Cemetery in care of the funeral chapel.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.
