She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 27, 1927. Wilma received her law degree and began a practice in Green Bay. She also served on the Wisconsin State Probation and Parole Board for 4 1/2 years. Coming out to Nevada, Wilma met Lawrence Fawcett and they were married October 26, 1955. Wilma taught Political Science and Criminal Law for five years. On July 1, 1977, Gov. Mike O'Callaghan appointed her to serve as a member of the State Parole Board. She served on the Board until June 30, 1981. In 1983 Wilma became the Executive Director for Yerington Paiute Tribal Housing Authority until she retired in June, 2002. Wilma loved football and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and the LDS church. She loved her home and family.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence E. Fawcett of Yerington and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents,her husband Lawrence, and her infant son, David.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 600 N. Oregon St., Yerington. Burial will be in the family plot of Valley View Cemetery.
