Mrs. Gladys Faulkner Barton, age 78, of Mantee, died Saturday, February 6 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 7 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Wake Forest Cemetery in Webster County with the Rev. Terry Williams officiating assisted by the Rev. Randall Poss.
The daughter of the late Ira Bascoe Faulkner and the late Lillie Hasting, he was a housewife. A graduate of David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee she taught school before her marriage. A lifelong resident of Mantee, she was a member of Dancy Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Hay Add Barton of Mantee; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Ferguson of Mantee and Mrs. Sandra Echols of Grenada; one son, Billy Barton of Mantee; one sister, Mrs. Grace Hunter of Mantee; one brother, Kenneth Faulkner of Oxford; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Carpenter, Pat Gibson, Darold Neal, Tom N Miller, Warren Barton and Lane Gibson.
Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
