SARDIS, Miss., May 14 -- Services for MRS. MATTIE FAULKNER SMITH, who died at her home in the Hebron community near here on Sunday, will be held at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon at the Hebron Baptist Church with the Rev. W. F. Garner and the Rev. Guy Reedy officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery with Arnold and West Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Smith, who was 81, had lived in Panola County, Mississippi all her life. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Faulkner. In 1904 she married Benjamin Franklin Thompson, who died in 1915. In 1927 she married William Smith, who died a year later.

Mrs. Smith leaves a daughter, Mrs. Huke Miller of Sardis, Mississippi; two brothers, Ed W. Faulkner of Sardis, Mississipi, and S. A. Faulkner of Eupora; and, three sisters, Mrs. Joe Baker, Mrs. Betty Scallon, and Mrs. Bob Scallon, all of Sardis, Mississippi. ~~ THE COMMERCIAL APPEAL, Memphis, TN, May 15, 1950, page 18
