She moved to Humble, Texas, and then to Pea Ridge in 1994. She enjoyed painting and raising cockateels and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 100 in Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Paul Cunningham, in 2002.
