Browning, IL - Verna M. Blickenstaff, 83, of Rural Route 1, Box 103, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Astoria Gardens in Astoria.

Born Sept. 18, 1921, in Astoria to Robert and Eathel Easley Farwell, she married Herbert Blickenstaff on May 11, 1941, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Aug. 16, 2003.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert Blickenstaff.

Surviving are two daughters, Pat (and Charles) Huston of Macomb and Carol (and Dale) Cassel of Pekin; two sons, Herbert Jr. (and Eileen) and David (and Marilyn), both of Browning; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; one brother, Oniley (and Mary Ellen) Farwell of Astoria; two half-brothers, Chester (and Jan) Farwell of Chillicothe and Ronald (and Letha) Farwell of Ottawa, Kan.; and one half-sister, Marilee (and Ron) Hiatt of Chillicothe.

She and her husband farmed west of Bader for more than 50 years. She also was a custodian at Bader Grade School for three years and worked at PAG Seed Co. for several years.

She was a member of Bader Christian Church in Browning.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
