Carmel High School in 1946.February 28, 1947 Iona married Dale Noble Bare in Bellmont, Illinois. Iona and Dale were the loving parents of two children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Iona spent much of her time working with her husband at the golf course and raising their children. During 1965, Dale and Iona moved their family to the Orlando, Florida area. There, Dale continued his work as a "golf professional." Iona worked outside her home, having a career for a good number of years with J.C. Penney Corp. as a Retail Department Manager.
Iona died on December 8, 2000 at Winter Park Memorial Hospital. Oh her wishes she was cremated.
