Deloris Farnsworth Corbin, age 87, of Vernal passed away peacefully on Oct. 1, 2011.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1924 in Wanship, Utah to Linn K. and Lila Bell Mecham Farnsworth.
On Nov. 3, 1944, she married Franklin Blaine Corbin. Blaine and Deloris lived throughout the Basin before settling in Vernal to raise their four sons; Homer, Robert, Steve, and Mike.
Deloris was a loving mother to her four boys and enjoyed spending time with them while fishing, hunting, and other outdoor activities. She was an avid supporter of her son's sporting events.
In addition to her role as a loving wife and mother, Deloris worked for the United States Postal Service for 14 years and volunteered countless hours as a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine.
She was well known in the Basin for her extremely talented hand at tole painting, oil painter, water colors, pottery, woodworking, and gardening. She was also an avid canner, seamstress, quilter and cook.
Deloris is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years; Franklin Blaine Corbin, sons; Steve (Christie) Corbin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mike (Joni) Corbin of Vernal, grandchildren; Kim, Brian, Michelle, Brooke, Matt and Floyd, and great-grandchildren; Emily, Corbin, Ally, Mattix, and Wade.
She is preceded in death by her two sons; Homer and Robert, parents, two sister, and two brothers.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary at 11 a.m. Burial was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary
