Betty Jean (Farmer) DeLapp, 84, died peacefully in her sleep with her family at her side on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Senior Life Center in Des Moines, IA.Betty was born in Brashear, MO, lived in a number of different cities across the country and graduated from Chariton High School before she married and settled in Des Moines.

Betty enjoyed collecting recipes, needlework, and trailer camping with her family in many state and national parks. She loved writing lengthy letters with her small, but perfect handwriting, much to the delight of her friends and relatives.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosella Pratt and son-in-law Harrison Pratt, and several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Paul E. DeLapp, and her mother, Cleone (Farmer) Thompson.
