Hazel V. Farley, of Steedman, passed away at the age of 82, on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Presbyterian Manor.
Hazel was born on December 7, 1926, in Steedman, the daughter of Samuel and Alma (Krebs) Mealy. She was united in marriage on September 23, 1944 to Elliott G. "Buster" Farley, who preceeded her in death on March 16, 2000.
Hazel was retired from the Fulton State Hospital as a Nurses Aid 11. She was a member of the Steedman United Methodist Church and the Steedman Sunshine Club. She enjoyed quiltting and gardening.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four children, David Elliott Mealy of Steedman, Sheryl Jean Taylor of Holts Summit, John Leonard (Linda) Farley of Steedman and Judith Carol (Chuck) Boots of Ashland, nine grandchildren, Jackie Bohrn, Patricia Lynn Farley, Jeremy Farley, Carley Myers, Leonard Farley, Lonnie Farley, Bryan Duncan, Zachary Boots and Chanda Boots, sixteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Chris Mealy of New Bloomfield, two sisters, Ruby McCray of Fulton and Marie McFarland of St. Charles, numerous cousins and many dear friends.
Including her husband and parents, she was preceeded in death by one daughter, Jenet Leigh Roush, eight brothers, Charles, Walter, John, Russell, Paul, Kenneth, Lloyd and Donald, three sisters, Althea, Patsy and Helen.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the funeral home with Reverend Beth Duckworth officiating.
Following the funeral service, burial will be held at Steedman Cemetary.
Memorials may be made to the Steedman United Methodist Church.
