Clayton K. "Clay" Faris, 62, of Belmont, Pleasants County, W.Va., departed this life Dec. 5, 2008, at the family residence following a short illness.

Clay was born Aug. 28, 1946, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Oliver Clayton and Mary Brumley Faris. He was retired from Union Carbide, later known as OSI, Sistersville Plant, as a Chemical Operator. He was a member of the International Chemical Workers Union, Local 698, Sistersville Plant. He was a graduate of St. Marys High School, St. Marys, W.Va., with the Class of 1965.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Kay Hadley Faris; daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Will Stanton of Belmont, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Derek Barnhart and Blake and Luke Stanton.

In addition to his parents, Clay was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Kahn.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, W.Va., with the Rev. Martin L. "Bud" Corbin officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Lane Cemetery at Maple Lane near Hebron, W.Va. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
