Ann Elizabeth Faris Culley, 96, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Manhattan, Kan.

She was born on March 12, 1908, in Clovis, to Joel Clary and Nancy Faris.

She was an accomplished pianist and after graduation she taught music for a number of years. She moved to Albuquerque in the late 1950s, where she became an executive secretary for the A.E.C. research and development facility at Sandia Corporation. She was an active member of Eastern Star, Tri Psi, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and Toastmistress International. She was a published author, and she contributed articles to several journals, including the New Mexico Magazine. She moved to Manhattan, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Culley.

She is survived by a daughter, Dr. LouAnn Faris Culley, of Manhattan, Kan.; a son, Dr. John Joel Culley (and wife, Sofia) of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Laura Yarvis (and husband, Jeff) and their children Jacob Josef and Olivia Rachel, all of Heidelberg, Germany; a niece, Royce Faris Christian of Clovis; three nephews, Carroll Faris (Marilyn) of Albuquerque, Leon Faris of Lovington, and L. Drue Faris of Dallas.

The Rev. Joan Roberts officiated.

Burial was at Mission Garden of Memories.

Memorial contributions may be made to the local Humane Society.

Arrangements were by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
