Children- Cecelia Jensine Fardahl Quam, Karen Susanna Fardahl Overby, Anna Fardahl,

Sister's Gertrude Fardahl Overby & Synneva Fardahl Wickum

Jens Anfinson Fardahl emigrated from Sogndal, Norway to Dane County, Wisconsin in 1854, where his aunt Inger was Married to A. Randal, and had established a lovely home. There he lived for some time.

Jens Fardahl is remembered not only for his affluence, but also for his generosity. It is said that on at least one occasion he outfitted the new minister who was called to serve in his congregation not only with a team of horses, but also the harness as well as the carriage.

Jens and Christi Hansdatter Vikheim were married in Kenyon in 1858 by P. A. Rasmussen, two months after Minnesota became a state. In 1854 Jens Anfinson Fardahl homesteaded and his land title carries the signature of President James K. Polk. The farm now occupied by Jens and Christi's great grandson, James Overby, has been in that family bloodline for one hundred and twenty six years. The farms acquired by Jens Fardahl, totaling about 640 acres, are the best soil found in Goodhue County. The land is located in Cherry Grove Township between Kenyon and Wanamingo.

Jens and Christi were parents to six children, five daughters and one son. Three daughters growing to adulthood were Anna, Karen Susanna and Cecelia Jensina. The latter with the name Cecilia was perhaps named in honor of her grandmother, Cecelia Jensdatter Reppen Vikheim, who came to the United States after her husband Hans Mikkjelson Vikheim had died in 1858.

In the 1880 census, Jens is listed as "Jens Anfinsen", also in the household was his wife Chrisena Anfinsen, Susan Anfinsen & Anna Anfinsen living in Cherry Grove, Goodhue, Minnesota
