Thomas E. Farcht, Sr. MANCHESTER Thomas E. Farcht, Sr., 93, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at Blessley Farm in Etters. Mr. Farcht was the husband of Ellen E. (Blessley) Farcht of Manchester, for 57 years. Born June 27, 1913, in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Edward C. and Daisy (Hake) Farcht. He was a 1931 graduate of Manchester High School. He was retired from PennDot. Mr. Farcht was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church for 66 years. He was a 32nd degree mason, a member of the York Lodge No. 266, Free and Accepted Masons, and the Harrisburg Consistory. He was a past president of the Southeast Central District Christian Endeavor. Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas E. Farcht, Jr., and his wife, Sandra of York Haven; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Farcht and her husband, David LaLeike of West Chester; two granddaughters, Katie Farcht of York Haven, and Greta Farcht of West Chester; a niece, Jody Bliss of York; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Smith. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 4360 Board Road, with his Pastor, the Rev. Robert W. Pickering, officiating. Private burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Manchester, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul United Methodist Church Music Department, 4360 Board Road, Manchester, PA 17345; or to the York Salvation Army, 50 East King St., York, PA 17401.
