Elizabeth, as she was known, was born in Talladega County, Alabama to Pauline "Polly" Curry and William Edward Fant. She was the third born of six children and the first of four girls.
At seventeen she married Delmar Jones. The marriage produced one child, Joann J. Jones who was born in 1939. They couple was divorced and Elizabeth moved to Brooklyn, New York. She and her mother joined Elizabeth's Aunt Lottie in her restaurant business in Brooklyn and later in Manhattan.
Elizabeth was known for her delightful personality and winning way with customers. She was often "asked for" when her regulars appeared for lunch or dinner. She enjoyed her work and did very well in support of her family. She lived in a large apartment in Brooklyn Heights just blocks from the magnificent promenade which overlooked the East River. The view provided was a movie view set of lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.
In 1944 Elizabeth met and married Walter McKenna Boyd. Their daughter Mary "Diana" was born in November 1944. Years later they separated and Walter moved to California.
Elizabeth established a special relationship and bond with Roy Arnold of Brooklyn Heights. Their long term relationship produced a child named Michael Louis. Elizabeth survived Roy's death but by one month.
She is survived by two children and many grand children.
