Beloved Wife, beloved Mother of 7 children, and beloved grandmother and great grandmother. Emily went home to be with the Lord on August 9th 1988. There has never been anyone like her in my life and there never will be. She was more than my grandmother, she was all I had and thank God I had her.
She loved God above all else and even asked the family to stop praying for her because she knew the Lord answers prayer. She had cancer and was ready to meet the Lord.
She was the most wonderful, loving and yes, onery woman I have ever known, and I wish there were more like her, but I have never met anyone like my grandmother.
My grandmother used to get off of her deathbed and come to church to hear me sing the song I wrote that she liked the best and I would always sing it. I made her a promise and I kept it. I sang graveside at her funeral, after giving her a beautiful red rose.
I can never tell her how thankful I was and am for her presence in my life, and if anyone reads this, I think this would be the best tribute, written by someone who loves her with nothing held back. This Lady was loved beyond all conditions, and she was truly a woman of God.
I don't know how pleased she would be with her children now that she is no longer with us, but if I know my grandma, she would be cutting a switch off the tree to tan their hides. *S*
