Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Barbara Fairholm Bryner, 84, died peacefully on Christmas Morning 2008 at Jordan Valley Medical Center in West Jordan, Utah. She resided at 2948 South Filmore Street (1535 East) in East Millcreek, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born on March 8, 1924 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Kate Neone Smith and Leo Rex Fairholm. As a girl, she loved algebra, geometry, swimming and baseball.

Barbara first met Cliff Bryner when she was 15 years old. They were married four years later on April 9, 1943. Cliff served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and she worked as a welder. They built a home on Filmore Street in Salt Lake where they raised five children and had many close friends and dear neighbors. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1993. Barbara served for many years as a Sunday school and primary teacher and leader and was a very talented doll maker and creator of miniatures. She greatly enjoyed associating with friends who shared her hobbies. She loved celebrating holidays and birthdays with her family.

She is survived by her five children: Lynda (Mark Fenton), Janis (John Bohling), Gary (Jane), Doug (Susan), and Pat; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her brothers Gilbert (Barbara) Fairholm and Rulon (Cecilia) Fairholm and sisters LaVaun (Bryce Stewart) and Sheri (Ron Delis). She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff, her parents, and her brothers Erwin (Doris) Fairholm and Glenn (Polly) Fairholm.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, East Millcreek. A viewing will precede the services at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place at Wasatch Lawn following the services.
