Catherine Guthier Fairbanks entered into eternal life on September 4, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 13, 1962 to the late Gordon and Mary Louise Fairbanks.

She is survived by her brother, Jim (Martha) Fairbanks of Indianapolis; her sisters, Diana Zendel of Stuttgart, Germany, Linda (Bob) Nourse and Becky (Mark) Herbison of Carmel; and companion, Norbert Babauta; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her brother, Michael preceded her in death.

She worked for many years at Indianapolis Pool & Spa, Inc. before training to become an A&P Mechanic with ATA. As a mechanic, a job she loved, she worked first for ATA and then with AAR Aircraft Services Indianapolis. She loved all animals, especially her cats and turtles. She was admired for her stubborn refusal to give up hope and her determination to live a normal life in spite of cancer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
