Funeral services for Esther Exner, 89 of Lincoln, are scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm, and on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 7:00 am until 8:30 am at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Monday, July 10, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Esther Edna Exner was born April 15, 1928 in Loebau, Texas to Louis and Malita (Kloss) Beisert. She was baptized on April 17, 1928 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau by Rev. Durow. She was confirmed on March 29, 1942 by Rev. Ostoff. Her confirmation verse was Isaiah 54:10 "For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." At the age of thirteen, she was adopted by Henry and Emma Kieschnick. She married Herbert Exner on November 3, 1945. She worked for Invader Boat Company, managed Jane's Western Shop for 15 years, and worked as a waitress. Esther also helped with the Sunday school program at St. John Lutheran in Lincoln. Esther was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide, the volunteer fire department and the Lincoln Community Club. She loved her cats and working in the flower garden. She loved all of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Esther passed away the morning of Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center in Giddings.

Esther is proceed in death by her parents; step mother, Minnie Hohle; husband, Herbert; son, Chester; sisters and brothers-in-law, Corine Iselt, Lorine and Henry Tatum, Freida and Walter Schulze, Leona Schulze, Waldemar Rackel, Joe Benignus, Helen Beisert, and Alfred Iselt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie & Ruby Beisert, Robert Beisert, Marvin & Charlene Beisert, Clara & Rupert Deal, Herbert Medack, and Shirley Beisert.

Esther is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Elenora Medack, Janette Benignus, Elna and Gene Moerbe, Gladys Iselt, and Grace Rackel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred & Betty Beisert, Alvin & Ruth Beisert, Ruben Beisert, Ernie & Bernice Beisert, Eugene Iselt, and Alice Beisert; Chester’s God children, Christopher Cherico, Ricky Cherico, and Chris Schulze, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
