LaDonna May Busswitz age 77 of Worthington, formerly of Westbrook, passed away while surrounded by family Monday, March 17, 2014 at Sunset Cottage Hospice in Worthington. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Interment is in the Westbrook Cemetery.

LaDonna May (Ewy) Busswitz was born September 3, 1936 on the family farm to Ewald and Agnes (Ankrum) Ewy. She graduated from Westbrook High School in 1954. LaDonna worked as a telephone operator in Tracy. On September 6, 1958 she married Marvin Busswitz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. LaDonna helped Marvin working on the farm. After they quit milking cows, she worked at Westbrook Good Samaritan in housekeeping for 15 years. Marvin and LaDonna moved into town in 1990. Marvin passed away in May 2002. She continued living at home until she moved to Worthington in October 2011. LaDonna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She collected dolls, teapots, cookie jars, lanterns, and lamps. LaDonna enjoyed bowling in her younger years and loved to go shopping. She loved babies and had a special way with being able to calm them. LaDonna loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

LaDonna is survived by her sons Brian (Pam) Busswitz of Westbrook and Scott (Lisa) Busswitz of Worthington; grandchildren Tanya (Matt) Leinen and Derek Busswitz, all of Worthington; and great grandchildren Faith, Cole, and Carson. She is also survived by her sisters Dolores Gertner of Winona, Judy (Ronnie) Schreier of Currie, and Sharon Gerhardt of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law Delores Ewy of Westbrook; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, sister LaVonne, brother Donald, and brothers-in-law Bob Layman and Vernon Gertner.
